Richmond Tea Party, Inc. is a non-partisan, grassroots community established to advance and strengthen the Founding principle that life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are God-given rights guaranteed to every individual by the Constitutions of the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia. We believe that government derives its power from the people and is established solely to protect these rights. The core principles of limited government, fiscal restraint, personal responsibility, and governing with virtue and accountability are all necessary to ensure the preservation of our freedom. We believe that local governments, communities, and individuals are best suited to serve and represent the needs of the people. Most importantly, we believe that citizen participation in the political process is a fundamental necessity for good government.

This is ridiculous. Why should I pay money now that the budget is getting tight? If Obama could have passed a budget in 3 years i might be inclined to throw him a bone, but no! Im tired of politicians slacking off, spending my cash, then expecting me to pay more. I hope the American wrath is felt on November 6th because this sh– is getting pretty stupid
I am completely against adding the tolls to I-95 in southside Va. I reallize, as the cost figures show, it takes money to make money. In this case though we are spending the tax payers money to cause him a hardship, which he “DOESN’T WANT”. This is a typical example of politicians in action. The state government is evidently no different than the federal government. The majority of the people in this country were against the health care reform but it passed and now the majority of the people in VA. are against this toll installation. I am so sick and tired of “ELECTED” egotistical know-it-alls going against the will of the people who elected them. The political attitude of “Eat your Broccoli it’s good for you even if you don’t like it”, is getting hard to swallow. Connaughton is appointed so we can’t fire him, but we can fire the man who appointed him, come next election.
Spending by government is what has to be reduced, not add more taxes,we are taxed enough already.
