Murkowski Resolution Scheduled for June 10th Vote

Thank you to everyone who has contacted Senators Webb and Warner in support of the Murkowski resolution that would override the EPA’s attempt to backdoor Cap and Trade (tax) by circumventing the legislative process. Our sources are telling us that the resolution is getting good bipartisan support: 41 senators already, including Webb. True to form, though, Warner still hasn’t stated his position.

The vote is scheduled for June 10th. We must keep intense pressure on both of them to show them we are still engaged and we expect them to protect Virginia’s—and America’s—economic future and the integrity of the legislative process by standing up to an out of control EPA, preventing them from foisting enormous taxes on us at a time when we’re already struggling and face even greater problems in the future. Call and visit both Webb and Warner’s district offices.

I just called Senator webb’s office and the assistant said that he has not decided how he will vote. Sounds a lot different from what you have in this blog. Can you clarify?

Freedomworks was saying they had heard from many grassroots supporters who called Webb’s office that they were told he would support the amendment. Of course, we were encouraging people to keep calling since you just never know with these politicians…

Just called Senator Warner’s office and the assistant(Carrig) said Warner is voting against the resolution. That man needs to be removed from office at the very first opportunity.

I also asked in what form comments are passed on – are they just passed on as counts of who is for and who is against, or are comments passed on? She said comments are passed on. So, I then asked, what will the message be that you pass on for me. Her answer was, “That you are against the Murkowski resolution.” I really got upset then. I reminded her that I had just spent the last 3 minutes expressing my support for the Resolution and she said, “well, I knew that you were against the EPA.”

So, does this give you confidence that your messages are being passed on accurately? ASK before you hang up the phone.
